National Hot Dog Day, birthed in 1991 by the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council, is celebrated annually on the third Wednesday in July. In 2025, it falls on Wednesday, July 16th.
As is often the case with niche food and beverage-themed holidays, companies are cashing in on the hype by offering hot-dog-related discounts, promotions, and freebies to customers.
Where to get free & discounted hot dogs for National Hot Dog Day
Ketchup, mustard, relish, onions—however you top your dog, you’ll want to take advantage of these mid-summer promotions. Here’s a roundup of 2025’s best National Hot Dog Day deals:.
7-Eleven: 7Rewards members can score a Big Bite hot dog off the convenience chain’s hot-and-ready roller grill for just $2 through July 22.
Circle K: On National Hot Dog Day, Circle K customers can grab two hot dogs for just a buck, but they must be ordered through the convenience chain’s app.
Doghaus: Hot-dog chain Doghaus is offering one free Haus Dog to rewards members on July 16. The free hot dog must be ordered via the restaurant’s app. Starting the next day, rewards members can order buy-one-get-one free Haus Dogs via the app until the end of glizzy season (i.e., July 31).
EG America: EG America convenience stores are offering customers two hot dogs for $3 from July 14 through 20. The company’s convenience store brands include the following:

Love’s: Love’s convenience store customers can grab a free hot dog (or equivalent roller grill product each day from July 14 through 16 via offers in the Love’s Connect app.
Portillo’s: From July 14 through 2020, Portillo’s customers can score a hot dog or veggie dog for just $1 with any purchase of $5 or more.
Philly Pretzel Factory: On National Hot Dog Day Only, Philly Pretzel Factory customers can grab pretzel dogs for just $1 via the restaurant’s app. Additionally, new users get a free pretzel dog just for joining the app.
Sheetz: Sheetz customers can grab two free hot dogs with the purchase of 10 or more gallons of gas by activating a special offer via the OFFERZ tab in the Sheetz app. This promotion runs from July 16 to 22.
And, while not specific to National Hot Dog Day, Costco and Sam’s Club food courts both offer hot-dog-and-soda combos for $1.50 or less.
